Artscape is a member of The Association of Professional Landscapers (APL)

The Association of Professional Landscapers (APL) comprises of accredited landscaping companies who design, build and maintain gardens throughout the UK. There is a rigorous inspection process to join which is one of the toughest within the industry.

APL is the only landscaping association that is an approved scheme operator for TrustMark for the garden landscaping, fencing and patio and driveways sectors.

TrustMark is a not-for-profit social enterprise and the only Government Endorsed Quality Scheme in the UK covering home improvements in or around the home which includes garden landscapers. It sets standards which firms must meet in order to display the TrustMark logo – the sign of a company that homeowners can trust that differentiates reputable firms from potential rogue traders

How does TrustMark work?

Landscape businesses that wish to offer independent accreditation for extra piece of mind join Trustmark through the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL). The APL carries out regular checks to ensure that the company meets the rigorous standards and criteria set by TrustMark. These include checks on the company’s technical competence, trading record and legality. They also include visits by assessors to real client projects to view company documentation such as CDM 2015 construction phase plans, waste transfer certificates etc.

The APL only awards the TrustMark certificate if they are satisfied that the assessed company meets the Government endorsed standards. The APL is also monitored by TrustMark to ensure that these standards are being maintained.

Why should you use a TrustMark certificated landscaper?

TrustMark gives more protection from potentially rogue companies or cowboys. When you see a firm displaying the TrustMark logo you have the reassurance of knowing:

  • Artscape is visited regularly and their legality and trading record is checked.
  • The quality of our work is assessed on site, during the building phase and on completion of the project at least once every three years.
  • We have signed up to TrustMarks’ Customer Charter whereby we are a member of the HTA (Horticultural Trades Association) and have been trading for a minimum of one year.
  • If a customer has a problem they cannot solve with us the APL has a process to assist with a resolution. APL Code of Conduct.
