Roof Garden Example 1, Berkshire

Roof Garden

The design of this roof garden needed to take in to account the load bearing of the roof, the container weight and the types of plants that could cope with wind scorch and full sun.

The garden has two main areas, one for dining and one for seating, and these have been separated using lightweight containers and planted up with architectural plants.

The scheme included a range of clipped box, phormium and yuccas all softened by ornamental grasses planted with flowering perennials to add a splash of colour throughout the summer. Olive trees were planted to add height to the garden and to act as focal points.
