Berkshire based Artscape Design & Build Ltd (www.art-scape.co.uk) have received recognition for their high quality landscaping work by receiving an award at the Association of Professional Landscapers annual award ceremony which took place in Leicestershire on Wednesday 10^th February 2010.

The company received a category winner award in the Overall Design and Build category which was presented to them by garden designer, writer and TV presenter James Alexander-Sinclair.

The clients wanted a garden design that was smart, simple and in keeping with the house which is an eclectic mix of contemporary and traditional styles.  We modified the approach to the property, created a new courtyard area and new planting areas.  What had previously been a driveway that led to the garages is now a new garden with a seating area to catch the sun and a pergola stained black to match the barn.  Rectangular lawns, simple paving, decking, pleached Hornbeam and modern topiary completed the picture.

Chair of the judging panel and APL vice-chairman, Mark Gregory said, “We received a record number of entries this year and the standard was exceptionally high. The APL Awards, sponsored by Bradstone, recognise the very best in landscaping undertaken by APL members in projects that range from smaller projects to garden maintenance to contracts of over £100,000. The Awards are a celebration of the high standards that have been achieved by members and a demonstration of the APL’s commitment to quality landscaping.
